The start of a new year is normally a time filled with hope and optimism. It’s a time for positive change, new beginnings and leaving the past in the past. This year, however, things feel very different.
Around the world, the Covid-19 pandemic is continuing to cause immense challenges for individuals and organisations alike. While the start of the pandemic was undeniably difficult, this period is, for many people, far worse. As well as fear and mounting frustration, there’s an overwhelming sense of fatigue. How much longer will we have to endure this? Will things get even worse before they get better? What will be the long-term fallout from this extraordinary time?
In this 30-minute webinar, Positive experts Dr Brian Marien, Dr Alice Gee and Will Marien will be exploring the importance of mindset for coping with Covid-19, and in particular, the role that hope can play. Research shows that individuals who are optimistic about the future have significantly higher levels of wellbeing and are less likely to report adverse psychological experiences. But how can we change the way we think?
Using insights from psychology and neuroscience, our experts will examine how the brain’s natural wiring can both help and hinder our ability to manage challenges, and discuss the unique relationship between hope and wellbeing. They will also look at some of the steps we can take to develop a more protective mindset, as well as practical strategies that leaders can use to help support their teams and wider organisations.
