About the programme

The Positive Schools Programme (PSP) has been developed with the specific aim of improving and maintaining the psychological health, wellbeing and resilience of teachers. Resilient teachers perform better under pressure, have better cognitive function (concentration, memory, decision-making, innovation, curiosity and creativity), have a greater tolerance of uncertainty, experience better physical health and are more effective at positively influencing and motivating students.

Our approach

positive.schools has two main aims:

1 TEACHERS

We support teachers in applying evidenced knowledge and tools from psychology and neuroscience to improve psychological wellbeing and manage periods of pressure.

2 PUPILS

We enable teachers to translate the tools directly into the classroom, supporting pupils to adopt protective and adaptive cognitive and behavioural patterns from a young age.

About the programme

The pressure on teachers to juggle numerous responsibilities, both academic and pastoral, can impact on cognitive resources and wellbeing. The ability to manage pressure and adapt to varied demands directly affects personal performance, which in turn impacts on the success and wellbeing of pupils.

Our schools programme has been designed in collaboration with teachers to provide evidence- and tech-based knowledge and tools to increase cognitive flexibility, wellbeing and resilience.
